B U L L E T I N SJune 30th- Summer Break
Hi all! Well, it’s just about summer break for Loverlee. Time to rest beneath the trees and swim until it’s well after dark.
Today we are meeting for a photo shoot for our new CD and wrapping up mixing in the next couple of days. We’re planning a ten or eleven song set featuring new and old favorites that should reflect the leap in musicianship and songwriting we’ve taken in the past year. Through that time we’ve played a pile of really fun shows, opened for the likes of Imperial Teen and Donita Sparks, been featured in the annual LA Times local music report as one of ten unsigned bands to download, were chosen as a featured band at liveatthegig.com, and played for a bunch of great people.
Our most recent show at Borders in Long Beach was a blast- we played for two hours and included 20 original songs! Thanks to everyone who joined us for that marathon or dropped in and ended up staying around. Our next show won’t be until September 8th- Justin’s Birthday party and Loverlee’s second anniversary! Currently, that is all we have set up, but you can be sure there will be plenty more after that. We will be using the summer to relax, write, and start getting our CD out there. We’re planning to make it available in September and hopefully have a release party in late September or October.
Currently, you can still get our first EP in a number of locations: Amoeba in Hollywood, Backside Records in Burbank, CDBABY.com, iTunes, or ordered directly from us via mail or paypal if you check out: http://www.loverleemusic.com/buy.html
Thank you for the support.
With love,
Jason, Genevieve, Lauren, Justin, and Val
Oh, and watch our last Gig show here~
October 21, 2006: We just had a great show at The Gig which youcan watch at alternatv.tv . Sadly, Sarah Paul has left Loverlee, but we have just added Val to the line up. Shes a wonderful bass player on electric and upright. We're very excited to have her. Otherwise, we're working on getting our CD into stores and spreading the word. We hope to pick up the number of shows we've been doing to a couple a month instead of just one as we've been planning out.
In September, the week before our CD Release show, we popped up in the LA TIMES local music report. They had a list of 10 songs by local unsigned bands and picked out "When We're Alone." It was great to see. Additionally, Sonic Reverie wrote a very nice and accurate review of Bon Jour.

July 30, 2006: This is a very exciting time for us. Loverlee is coming up on the one year mark and so much has been going on. First and foremost, we got to open for Imperial Teen- Justins favorite band, and the only band Loverlee has covered (we played Birthday Girl at our first show). As if that werent enough, Donita Sparks from L7 played as well. It was a great night, thanks to those who shared it with us.
Additionally, our CD is being manufactured now! The title is Bon Jour: The Hello EP. It is an eight track recording of our songs. It features photos by Branded and cover art by Scot Nobles as well as some of the best songs from Loverlees first year.
Our work with AlternaTV is continuing. This is the website partnered with The Gig and launched by independent filmmaker/ director Peter O'Fallon ("Suicide Kings," "House," and Wonderfalls). As a featured band on this site we have a profile page where you can watch past shows, buy merch, and download songs. We are happy to be part of this new step in community and music. Big thanks to AlternaTV. http://www.liveatthegig.com/bands_loverlee_01.htm
Last, weve got a few shows coming up. On August 27th we will be playing the Bowling and Drinking Club at All Star Lanes in Eagle Rock. Two weeks later on September 8th, we hit The Knitting Factory Alterknit Lounge for Justins Annul Birthday party. This is the fifth year hes had his bash here and each time it rocks. The night will feature great performers like Trapeze and Carrots, Ateismo Kalahari, Stephen C James, and more TBA. But its not just Justins birthday party, its Loverlees birthday too! The band debuted at this event last year. But even more ITS OUR CD RELEASE SHOW!!! This is the first place you will be able to get Bon Jour and its gonna be cheap!
We want to thank everyone for your support and making this a great first year for us. Do us a favor, tell your friends, send em to our site, add us on MySpace. Well love you for it!

May, 2006: My Goodness! We are so far behind on this website. a lot has been going on for Loverlee! We're finally winding down on our CD, which is good news- but theres more. We recently added Seattle transplant Sarah Paul Ocampo to the line-up, and she's awesome! She plays drums and gutar and sings, etc etc etc. We're vry happy to have her. Additionally, we've been chosen as a featured band on Alternatv.com, which is connected with the gig. You can find our profile, merch, downloadable songs, and coolest of all- webcasts of our shows! The one up right now is great! Check it out! Click Here!

February, 2006: Loverlee has been doing very well. We have our second show at The Gig coming up and are quite excited about it after our awesome showing there last month, plus it seems to be the perfect sized stage for us. We have our demo coming along nicely. You can find a couple tracks on our DITTIES page as well as www.myspace.com/loverlee . No word on if we'll release a proper CD or not, but please spread the word and email us for stickers!

October, 2005: After three shows of various types in one month, we're working on recording right now. We hope to have a good demo out and some new shows booked by December.
~
September, 2005: We're finally all in town and practicing. Our first show is on the 9th form Justin's birthday. Other bands include some good friends and one of our favorites NAKED TRUCKER! As well as a film by Stephen C. James.
